This small church currently does not provide regular worship services. It is still consecrated, however, and does support occasional worship services as well as special services like weddings, christenings, and funerals. People wishing to attend regular Sunday worship would be very welcome at St Peter's, about ten kilometers away on North Pender.
The church was built in 1938 at a time when there were no roads between North and South Pender and the population of South Pender was very small. A small building out the back provided a very basic one-room habitation for visiting clergy.
